The Old Hamptonians Rugby Club.

OHRFC was founded in 1957 by and for former pupils of Hampton Grammar School. Our home ground is at The Old Hamptonians Pavilion, Dean Road, Hampton, behind Hampton School better known by players and local supporters as Fortress Dean Road, with apologies to our close neighbours at the RFU!

It was soon realised that in order to continue the legacy of rugby at the club that it should welcome allcomers and the OHRFC is today very proud that it has an open door policy for new players whilst still providing the opportunity for Hampton leavers to continue playing with their contemporaries after leaving the school.

Over the years, OHRFC established itself as a leading club in local rugby. In the 1970’s and early 1980's the Club was considered by many to be one of the top Old Boys clubs in London.

Following some mediocre seasons, the introduction of the English Leagues in the late 1980’s brought an improvement in the Club’s fortunes. Initially, OHRFC were placed in Middlesex League 2 and a League restructure saw us in Herts/Middlesex 3.

The 1990/91 season culminated in success with the League Title and promotion to Herts/Middlesex 2. The 1992/93 season brought the Herts/Middlesex 2 League Championship and promotion to Division 1.

The 1993/94 season was the most memorable in the Club’s history – ending with a visit to the hallowed turf at RFU Twickenham (via a semi-final appearance at Franklins Gardens, Northampton) for the Final of the Pilkington Shield.

The rest of the decade has seen the club see-sawing through the divisions and challenging for promotion.

The 1999/00 season ended in narrowly missing out on promotion, placed 3rd on point’s difference. Then in 2001/2 season the club finally secured promotion to the London Leagues and we continue to play in the London 4 NW league.
